I worked as the lead UI/UX designer for the re-design of NuggetCollection website, partnered with a manager and a stakeholder.
Client’s Need
NuggetCollection had a website that wasn't meeting their user needs. The company asked me to redesign its website and tailor the user experience to first-time book buyers.
They are looking for a website experience that is user-friendly, easy to understand, and meets the user experience.
Problem
The problem was that the initial site had the following issues:

Poor user-friendly layout

Low conversion rate

Poor visual layout

No customer feedback section
Their original design is unclear to their target audience. This made the website not profitable and made the the business suffer from poor growth.
Goal
The goal was to redesign the existing website in a more user-friendly way that helps solve those problems.
Research
Using a formative research method (Informal method) due to low funds, I interviewed the stakeholder and manager to clearly understand the main concern and needs.
Persona
To better understand user preferences, I gathered valuable insights from interviews with both stakeholders and managers. With this information, I developed a user persona named Lappi, which represents the characteristics and needs of our target users.

Bio
Lappi is a diligent marketer who recently received a promotion. They live with a roommate to save money and are enthusiastic about exploring new books.
Goal
Lappi's goal is to discover and learn from a wide range of books, expanding their knowledge and horizons.
Frustrations
Lappi finds it frustrating that the bookshop site lacks a diverse range of book categories, limiting their ability to explore a variety of subjects of interest.
UserFlow
The user flow statement I created helps to understand the user's journey as they progress towards achieving their end goal.
It outlines the sequence of steps and interactions a user takes to accomplish their objective, ensuring a clear understanding of their path from start to finish.
Research on familiar websites (competitive analysis)
Once I determined the desired user path toward reaching their goal, I researched popular book websites to identify common weaknesses.
My objective was to leverage these weaknesses and transform them into advantages for NuggetCollection.
Knowing that this weakness has a high tendency of causing the users bad experiences such as:
Frustration and Confusion
Increasing user's Effort and Time
This made me prioritize creating a design that solves this problem.
Paper Sketch
The process below begins with my initial ideas' wireframes, then moves to mockups, and finally to the high-fidelity prototype.
In this simple version, you can see how I Prioritized solving the common site weakness by making the product the first thing the user sees in each sketch idea to meet the user's needs.
Digital Wireframe
The sketch made it easy for me to jump into Figma and map out the Lo –Fidelity designs.
Mid-Fidelity mockup
To improve the design's visual appeal and user experience, I moved from the wireframe to a mid-fidelity mockup.
This allowed me to add more detailed visuals and get feedback on both functionality and aesthetics before moving to the final design stage.
Design Iterations
After conducting usability tests on the initial mid-fidelity design, my purpose for iterating was to enhance its visual appeal and make it more pleasing to users.
By gathering feedback and insights from the usability tests, I aimed to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to create a design that resonates positively with the users.

What I Learned?
During my experience with NuggetCollection, I've recognized the significance of utilizing all available resources while working within limitations.
While direct user feedback would be ideal for my design process, it wasn't always accessible.
In such cases, I sought answers by engaging with stakeholders and seeking inspiration from solutions employed by other companies.
